In Pennsylvania, Democrats retained their majority on the state’s highest court via retention elections — a strong signal of momentum. In Ohio, Democratic Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureval turned back a challenge by none other than the half brother of Vice President J.D Vance.

Together, these results may very well be predictors for next year’s midterm elections. The pattern of Democratic wins in diverse states — from urban hubs to battlegrounds — suggests expanding appeal and energized turnout.
